Eighteen Lake Rustic Campground provides three campsites and a picnic area under red pines on the shore of Eighteen Lake. A trail around the lake and a carry down boat access make this a wonderful spot to spend a weekend in the woods.
Eighteen Lake Rustic Campground is located east of Isabella on Forest Road 369 (Trappers Lake Road) From MN 61 at Illgen City, turn north on MN 1. Drive approximately 23 miles to Isabella. At Isabella, MN 1 takes a sharp left. Instead of following MN 1, turn right onto Forest Road 172 (Wanless Road). Drive 1 mile to FR 369 (Trappers Lake Rd). Turn left on FR 369. Drive two miles to Eighteen Lake Rd. Turn left on Eighteen Lake Rd. The campground is at the end of the road, about 1/2 mile.
Nice and clean rustic camping. 3 camp sites and a toilet. Canoe access to the lake. I thought the mosquitoes were going to take us! They were thick. Free
Very buggy-mosquitos the size of my fingertips, but if you're used to camping you're used to that and will bring bug spray. Beautiful area. If you have a regular car with no 4WD you'll still be able to make it, just watch out for potholes.
Very rustic, which we loved, lake access just steps away. Took the hike around the lake and it was thicker than we expected but a nice hike. 3 roomy campsites. There is a pot toilet in clean shape, but not great air flow.
