Off grid camping in the beautiful Maine woods. Enjoy sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Or camp on The Back 40 and really feel like you are away from it all! We are centrally located for day trips to Bangor, Belfast, Camden, Moosehead Lake, and Bar Harbor. Plus, we are right on ATV trails.
Camp North Star was a wonderful experience for our daughter in many ways. Camp staff was very watchful as we were unpacking our daughter's stuff, noticing that she was getting teary. As soon as we began departing, she swooped in to take our place. It made a huge difference. We got photos of the first day later that evening and our daughter was all smiles.
We received photos all week. The activities they participated in, particularly the evening camp-wide activities, were amazing - incredibly inventive, well-organized - a kid's dream (maybe adult's too!). We love the wide variety of activities offered, particularly horseback riding and Dungeons & Dragons....my daughter was thrilled to have that as an option. The water activities are also incredible - look at the pics online as words will not do justice.
The cabins are tidy, clean, and cozy, with bathrooms in each cabin. I was pleased when my daughter shared she never got hot as we are used to AC at night in the summer. : ) The grounds are spacious and well-organized.
Last, the staff was incredibly accommodating around my daughter's diet. Before she had allergies diagnosed she was on an insanely strict diet and Brooke worked with me to have on hand every thing my daughter required - literally a specially prepared dish for each meal and dessert. We simply would not have had the option of an overnight camp without that.
My daughter LOVED camp and looks forward to going again next summer.

Absolutely the best Camp ever my son loved it and he can’t wait to go back next year when he got back from camp I heard so many good stories he has so many new friends from CampNorthStarMaine and the staff are absolutely wonderful we can’t wait till next summer.
When we first made the decision to send our son to camp a few years ago we looked at many camps. The best interview we had by far was with Steven at Camp North Star and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Our son loved CNS and both the adult staff and counselors were outstanding. The camp provides a welcoming and nurturing environment, while at the same time helping kids to grow emotionally and get out of their comfort zones. We especially liked the fact that kids are not allowed to have their phones and electronic devices while at camp. It helps them improve their socialization skills and keeps them more engaged. We highly recommend CNS. Your child will have a great time.
Steven was absolutely incredible from our first interaction via email, to the tour and then of course to his presence at camp. Our son had a bit of a tough time acclimating, and Steve, was very supportive of him and also communicative with us. We love the variety of activities that are offered and the camp's philosophy on trying new things. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Camp North Star.
