Welcome to the immersive integration of nature with the essential comforts of home at West Bay Acadia on beautiful Schoodic Peninsula. Magnificent views with coastal West Bay access combine with full hook-ups on extra long pull-through/back in sites, 50/30 amp service and WiFi with Business Class Broadband for a memorable first class experience. Tiered sites assure you’ll get intimate with nature, not your neighbor! The picture to your right is Woodlands, sites 19 and 20.

Instead of concrete pads, jungle gyms, offices, and club houses, we have rocks to climb, coastal shores to walk, a tidal bay to kayak, the sounds of nature, a dramatic dark night sky and … perfect peace.amping is designed to enhance your full experience of nature with comforts:

Driving from Ellsworth on Route 1, turn right onto West Bay Road (the second Route 186 highway sign). Drive SLOWLY for 1/2 mile, watching your odometer or the road to spot both the Rainbow's End road sign and the West Bay RV Campground sign on your left. This is our entrance! Be careful not to miss it or you will have to drive a considerable distance to turn around.
After you turn onto Rainbow's End, follow the curving driveway, staying to your right directly to your site and start settling in. We will come and greet you later. If your arrival time changes, please let us know. If you'd like an escort, please text us (941-730-1549) and we will watch for you.
Caution: Please note that Google Maps is not entirely correct. Google has incorrectly named our road (Rainbow's End) with the road to the north of us (Cedar Lane) on their maps. Do not turn on the real Cedar Lane. Watch for the Rainbow's End road sign.
What takes an RV park from good to great? This is a new park with all of the utilities proper planned. Strong and clean water, reliable power, and sewers properly graded. All sites are extremely level and properly graded with high grade gravel. Landscaping is top-notch with grassy areas properly maintained. This is the first time I liked to enter the dog park. It has freshly chipped wood as a floor.
The location is perfect for access to Schoodic Point, Bar Harbor, and points north. We took a leisurely day trip to Lubec and Eastern Most Point. There are some very close and outstanding options for Lobster and Oysters.
The lovely owners are present and add a level of concierge beyond compare and expectations. They offer a Maine Experience meal each week. I would describe the meal and afterglow as an outstanding educational-entertainment experience. Rob and Peggy certainly went out of their way to make this a very special memory.
When planning this trip, we considered many RV parks much closer to Bar Harbor. But in retrospect we would choose West Bay again and again. It is away from crowds, quiet, with beautiful night skies.
