Fiancee and her brother was told they can't come back as someone lied and said they were up to till 4am with loud music! I know that's not true! they don't make it pass 10:30 /11pm!!! And 11 days they stayed and nothing was said to them about that until my fiancee calked to book the next month for Thanksgiving! And was told they can not come back! No one came to camp and did not send any letter or call for a months about what was going on! They are 58 and 60 years of age and should have been awear of this before the end of the stay on check out day! Ridge Rider say anything like this happened (drunk znd disordly) the people are told they have to leave...nothing like this was bought to there attention! They were not! That's why they were not told to leave! That Friday before the sunday check out was spent on cleaning and packing up the gazebo, rugs, lights, tables, blackstone, ckeaning fire pit... as it was going to rain allday Saturday (all day movies in camper)and did not want to pack in the rain and have wet stuff on check out sunday to pack! So why was the so called problem taken care of 2 days before check out? Why wat till fiancee calls a month later to book for thanksgiving? And say what they wanted and not let them talk and try and find out what really happened! They said what they said and then said have a Nice day and hung up!!! Shes has been going to that camp for over 20 years mostly when it was Good old Little Orleans campground! Her father had a place in hancock for deer hunting and was good friends with Mr. Bill ( Bills Place) well you all good luck with camping!!
Sites were nice. Other campers and gentle man working were friendly. The ladies checking us in not as much. Website is not up to date. Pictures are outdated. We went on Pirate weekend and were informed when we checked in that the website was wrong and there were zero activites for the weekend. This was big to us with kids. Play ground needs updated to meet safety codes. Overall good location to the river and good fishing pond but dont know we will be back.
Like a previous reviewer my site was 50 with an open ground. So no fix was done even though the meters are literally 100 feet away. I was told by staff that “it’s not a problem” even though open grounds could lead to electrocution if your campers frame becomes the ground. I chose to stay as I was told they all were set the same then I read the other review. Wow.
Nice area, nice campground but really they need to take safety seriously.
Don’t accept site GF50 if have a choice even if it close to the showers unless you accept the risk.
Great weekend retreat! Did not use many of the amenities but everything you could possibly need was on-site for the most glamorous of glamping. Easy process from booking to departure. If you are tent camping you will likely be outside of a reasonable walking distance from the main grounds/bathrooms, but that was okay with me! There are clean porta potties close by for the tent folks or a quick drive to the main area. I'd take quiet and privacy over convenience any time I'm camping. Convenient to some beautiful landscapes and outdoor adventures nearby. Friendly staff as well.
The tent sites are GREAT!!! So much room. Plenty of privacy, even though it's wide open in a lot of areas. The store is great with everything you could need. Great swimming areas and boat rentals. Much more to do but we mostly hung at the site and swam.
