This recreation area is part of Barkley Lake
Lake Barkley State Resort Park is located eight miles west of Cadiz on U.S. Highway 68. Exit 65 off I-24 onto U.S. Highway 68, head West 15 miles to the entrance of the park.
It was a quiet nook that I've never been to before. The beach was quiet. Water was perfect degree to swim in. I love walking around the resort sometime in the future Make reservations to stay in one of the rooms. It's a perfect place to get away from to get away from the norm and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake in the woods around you all around. Perfect, excellent experience
Rooms are ok a bit dirty for what you pay, they could clean a bit more the entrance and the hallways, no cell service and WiFi sucks, but really nice environment to loose your self from the outside, nice lake and nature. Buffet breakfast is just gravy eggs and some oatmeal wish they could improve it price was not bad.
The three stars is for view and the bed. The view is beautiful from our room and bed was very comfortable.
However, the breakfast buffet was gross, the sweet tea was basically sugar water, and there is no fridge in the rooms which basically puts you to either eat at the restaurant or leave to get food.
We had a complaint from the neighbor that our dog had been barking all night. Park ranger came to our door and was intimidating from the get go. We left for that reason and that reason only. Overly priced for what was supposed to have been an entire weekend that turned into exactly 15 hrs.
The view is very pretty but I don’t think we will be back.
My husband and I got married here. It was a dream! Melissa and Dina ensured we had the best day ever. The food was amazing, the ceremony was beautiful. Every detail was thought of. We are so grateful for Lake Barkley State Resort Park for giving us the day of our dreams!
Windows on water restaurant is excellent. I was told by waitress they have a new chef and they are doing a fabulous job. They had homemade clam chowder which was best I ever had! Crawfish buffet and fried fish was out of this world! A plentiful selection of vegetables was offered which I appreciate the healthy choices. Fried okra was tasty! Hot brown was so great I will order off menu on next visit. Windows on water is an excellent culinary experience steps from your lodge room overlooking Beautiful Lake Barkley and a great way to spend a vacation! Thanks for a great time!!! I am so appreciative this area has been managed mindfully and the wilderness and wildlife are truly spectacular. This beautiful resort makes me proud to live in Kentucky and is one of the best!!!
