My husband and I rented a spot for our camper for the week. We had a great time kicking back and visiting the surrounded area. We made fires and sat by the creek and enjoyed the scenery. We arrived just in time to see the leaves change color. The winding roads are something from a dream. Hanging Dog is a gem. Best kept a secret. ;) The campsite had everything needed available. Wifi worked fine to make calls and with no cell service that was amazing. It was so nice to unplug. An experience so wonderful that I can't wait to come back.
Fantastic mountain views, bubbling stream, excellent hosts. Everything you need to have a relaxing stay. Clean facilities, great pavilion, lots of green space to walk and enjoy. Nicely stocked camp store with a few essentials. It is an out of the way place, and that's fantastic to get away. Camp spaces were large, trees provided shade, hosts were out and about daily so we could chat or reach them with any questions or issues. Highly recommend this as a true getaway! The nearby town was quaint and had great food and stores to check out, and we visited an alpaca farm nearby Two Crows Farm that was very educational. Highly recommend scheduling a tour or visit to their gift shop too. We visited in the fall to spectacular leaf colors.
Jason & Jessie are awesome! They go above and beyond to ensure your stay at J&J's Getaway is the best it can be. Jason helped me as a solo camper set up and Jessie delivered firewood directly to my site. The sound of the "babbling brook" is so peaceful and enjoyable. The mountain views are beautiful. Even my "neighbor" Eric went out of his way to help me get hitched for my return trip home. Thanks all for a wonderful peaceful stay.
We had a wonderful stay at the J & J Getaway Campground. The campground is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains with beautiful views. The facilities were extremely clean and Jason, the owner, was super helpful. When we first arrived we had an issue with our surge protector and Jason offered to let us borrow one he had. We also had our daughter tent camping with us and she needed an electric converter to run a space heater in her tent. Jason had one of those as well. Jason and Jessie sent several emails prior to our visit giving us helpful information. The campground is located within an hours drive of many mountain attractions. All in all I would highly recommend this campground. If you have a larger RV or camper be sure to follow the directions Jason and Jessie email you prior to your arrival as your GPS will take you over some very hilly and curvy roads.
Very friendly hosts/owners that provided a warm welcome and were attentive to the needs of our group. We had terrible weather but they stayed upbeat and were in a constant great mood.
The surrounding mountains provide a gorgeous backdrop for a relaxing get-away.
