About Campground

Camp Henning at Ellerbe Springs is nestled within 42+ beautiful lush acres of the majestic Ellerbe Springs property. Ellerbe Springs opened as a summer escape in the 1890's. Once owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America, this property is steeped in history. At it's inception, the draw to the breathtaking grounds was the natural mineral springs. People would travel from all corners to soak in the healing waters. There is actually still 1 mineral spring left on the property among other natural springs! The campground features 14 full-hookup RV sites (electric, water, sewage), picnic tables, and fire pits. The property also boasts the history Ellerbe Springs Inn with 14 en-suite rooms, the charming, flourishing ''Spring House'' restaurant, and a 5 acre pond where you may fish (catch and release). Come experience life the way it was meant to be enjoyed as you meander throughout our peaceful, nature-filled walking trails spotting deer, humming birds and an array of other wild life.

Directions

Upon entering the Ellerbe Springs Property check in at the Inn where your host will escort you to your RV site.

This Southern Bed and Breakfast was such a pleasant secluded surprise. The owner was lovely and made everything about my stay so easy. The building is very historic and old. But the rooms are newer and immaculate. The rooms are so beautifully decorated with giant old windows that look out on a pastoral scene. A family of sweet cats live outdoors for you to pet on the wrap-around porch, but inside no cats or cat hair. I have allergies but they were not triggered at all while I was there because it is mostly wood floors. My bed was extra comfortable and luxurious. Updated bathroom with a great hot shower. Many places to read a good book or play a board game or cards...there is even a pool table. I felt like I had escaped into another world that had an amazing story of its own.

It was interesting and peaceful. The Inn with its pastoral grounds and spring are nowhere near the camp but I understand you can go with your RV too. They have a restaurant and tennis courts in the works which I can't wait to try on my next visit. Continental Breakfast and Netflix included!

Very much enjoyed my overnight stay here. I checked in after midnight and the lady was so sweet, very neat historic old rooming house is what it looked like to me. Our room was very inviting for a great night's sleep. Didn't want to get up the next morning, but got up and went down stairs to breakfast. She had coffee and juice and cereal and breads. It's off the beaten path, but we'll worth it for a peaceful night's sleep

What a gem of a find this was! Very clean, beautifully decorated rooms with old historical charming antiques, very friendly, accommodating staff and complimentary breakfast with an array of goodies. Not to mention the storybook setting. The new owners are restoring the exterior- cant wait to see the continued changes.

We stopped here for a quick 1 night stay while traveling through. The staff was super friendly! Camp ground is up a hill but decent spots with nice hookups. We will definitely stay again!

This place is a hidden treasure. I really enjoyed the multiple walking trails and being able to fish in the catch and release lake. The room was beautifully decorated and took me back in time, while still offering modern amenities like the tv and mini fridge. The owners and staff were so kind and attentive. They are working on restoring the inn and tennis courts. As an avid tennis player I can’t wait to come back and enjoy tennis and pickle ball too! Whether you’re coming to vacation or just passing through you can’t find anywhere more peaceful or safe to rest your head and get out into nature. Will be coming back again soon!
