I was going here everyday with my dog at lunch time,great quiet place in cooler months! Unfortunately,the first week in December 2023 they closed the main gate to drive in !! No explanation?? So,across from main gate, you can park in a little dirt lot that's mainly used for hikers,and just walk in around gate! My dog "Louie" LOVES THIS PLACE!! Nice water views,and nature! Highly recommended!! I found out they close the gate in late Nov, early December so they don't have to remove any snow/ice!
Had a lovely hike to the falls. People were jumping off the rocks into the falls (contrary to the signs), and some people left a lot of trash which was disappointing.
The bathrooms by the swimming area were clean
There was dog poop around the fake sand. My daughter was upset there was little room to swim. All the tables and grills get taken quickly so go in the early morning and if you’re gonna have a big party.
Indian well State Park is such a lovely place. Plenty of options for picnicking, game playing, large gatherings and a boat launch bathrooms. If you don't make it this summer, add it 2 to do for next year!
