Beautiful place. Primitive campsite with shower $14 along the Mississippi River with boat launch. As a bonus, beautiful sunset and sunrise. Best to go during the week you will have the place to yourself. 😊
Warning: Primitive. My definition to that is where the wild things are, I think setting up a dashcam and seeing what walks around your tent overnight would be worthy here. There is different camping sites available though so Silva is a great if that is what you want. 4 outhouse type toilets, without complete wall and camp style hinged doors. Water faucets are available, fire rings and picnic tables, scrap wood is available (this is a Forest Park, but wood is available to buy and encouraged due to the Ash tree disease. Different size lots for single or multiple tents, each is uniquely set in it's own cut-out of the Forest but within a lasso type drive . Even though set apart from other parts of this preserve, you still have Park access, fishing, hiking, etc.
