Mt. Heyburn Campground is composed of 19 campsites on the east side of Redfish Lake and all sites are first-come, first-serve. The campground is situated in a lodgepole pine forest. The Visitor Center offers area information and interpretive programs. There is a boat ramp at Sandy Beach boat launch, on the eastern shore of the lake. Take a short tour on the interpretive Fishhook Nature Trail or a longer walk west into the beautiful Sawtooth Wilderness to battle wild cutthroat in the alpine lakes. A section of the Idaho Centennial Trail passes near the area. Equestrian stables, a dump station, and boat rentals can be found at Redfish Lake Lodge. Three small playgrounds are provided for children in the campground. Swimming, sailing, waterskiing, wading, canoeing, motorboating and fishing are great ways to enjoy the waters.
From Stanley, go 4.5 mles south on ID 75 and 3 miles south on Forest Road #214.
Nice clean campground with wooded sights. First come first serve..no reservations very busy place!
Very nice Federal Campground. Directly across the road from the boat launch and directly across the road from the boat launch and a nice sandy beach and Redfish Lake.
Great campground, it's not on the lake, it sits on a bench above sockeye campground. Its maybe a 5 minute walk to the lake. Very quiet and peaceful. There are a few really good secluded spots at this campground compared to the other campgrounds on Redfish lake.
This camp site is absolutely amazing! Great location, very clean, and well taken care of. JIM the camp host is the best host ever!!!! We will be coming back in a couple of weekends and hope this will be our new spot (if we can get in as its very popular), Thank you Jim for being so wonderful!
The campground is next to little Redfish. No motorized boats or jets ski here. Mostly calm and quiet. The lake isn't too deep. Somewhere in the 25-30 feet. The hosts were great and welcoming. This is a reserved camp, so be sure to look ahead. You might be able to get an open spot at times, but it is often full.
