About Campground

Overview

Eastside Campground is located on the shores of scenic Sagehen Reservoir at an elevation of 4,956 feet. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing and exploring the non-motorized Sagehen Reservoir Trail.

Recreation

Sagehen Reservoir offers great boating, canoeing, and rainbow trout fishing. Boat ramps and docks are located nearby at both Antelope and Sagehen Creek Campgrounds. There is a 15 mph speed limit on the reservoir. Hiking, biking, horse, and ATV trails are abundant in the area. The non-motorized Sagehen Reservoir Trail, a 4-mile loop around the lake, offers great fishing spots, beautiful viewpoints, and wildlife watching opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. The Sagehen and KYAOTT ATV Trail Systems can be accessed near the reservoir, offering more than 35 miles of trails for ATVs and motorcycles, but hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders can enjoy these trails as well.

Facilities

The campground is made up of several single sites or serves as one reservable, accessible group site that can accommodate up to 50 people and 10 vehicles. Most of the campsites afford partial lake views. Picnic tables, campfire rings, a vault toilet, and hand-pumped drinking water are provided. A campground host is located at nearby Antelope Campground, where firewood can be purchased.

Natural Features

The campground is situated in a forest of towering Ponderosa pine, Engelmann spruce, Douglas fir, and grand fir. Most sites have plentiful shade. Summer temperatures range from 80 to 90-degree days to cooler nights. A variety of berries and mushrooms can be found throughout the area. Local wildlife includes deer, elk, black bear, goshawk, woodpeckers, and boreal owls.

Directions

From Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, take Highway 52 for 9 miles west to the junction with the Sweet/Ola Highway. Turn north and travel 16 miles to Ola, Idaho. Travel north through Ola and follow 10 miles northeast on FS Rd 618, then make a right on FS Rd 626 and follow it for 7 miles. Make a left of FS Rd 614 and travel about 2 miles to Sage Hen Reservoir. Eastside Campground is on the east side of the reservoir.

The bouncer was on a big power trip last night. My friend and I went to the bar and waited in line for 20 minutes to get a drink the check came out to 8 dollars and my friend tipped 4 dollars. A drunk guy next to us started saying how my friend was being disrespectful for not tipping and I tried showing him how he tipped over 50% but he wasn’t listening to me. The drunk guy goes over to the bouncer and tells him my friend was being disrespectful. The bouncer very aggressively grabs my friends drink out of his hand and throws it away then grabs him by the shoulders and pushes him out the front door. I walked over to the bouncer to try and see what was happening and he started to get verbally aggressive with me for absolutely no reason. Not sure we will ever feel comfortable again to go back after how horribly we were treated for no reason. The only reason I did give one star is because the bartender was nice but besides that horrible experience.

If you stop here for any reason, it better be to have a great laugh at the restroom doors.

Trivia night was fun.

Sorta your usual selection of drinks, with a few great crafts tossed in.

And clean. Very clean. One of the best perks of the place, is it isn't a mess.

I didn't have any food while I was at this bar, but it seemed to be a pretty cool little spot, a few pool tables, a couple of dart boards, a Foosball table, and karaoke at a certain time of the night which was a first for me to visit, also had great drink prices.

Kudos to these gals busting their backs running this bar while there's a ton of college kids here after a home game. One bouncer. No bar back. Who writes this schedule? I sure hope those that are here are being fairly compensated for how hard they are working. No reason they should be so severely understaffed on a home game Saturday. Would give 5 stars if whoever managed this place had any clue how to staff appropriately.

This bar has had a lot of great memories for me. I grew up doing all our family Thanksgivings here. My Gma and Gpa Sharon and Leo owned it when it was crickets. Its Definitely weird to walk in and see it look so different but I'm glad Ryan allowed us to come in and celebrate my grandmothers last hoorah! She will be missed. Thank you Eastside!
