Great interactive visitor center and nature trail to educate you about this unique wild place. It's one of the largest remaining tracts of bottom land forest left in the Mississippi river delta. Beware though... it's in the boonies, so be sure to fill up your tank and pack a lunch as there are no stores in the metropolitan St Charles area.
I'm not a hunter at all, however if I were, this is definitely where I go. I went camping there last fall with my husband and we saw a lot of deer frolicking around. It's a beautiful place and I was really happy to see so many deer however, at the same time, I felt really sad because there were so many baby deer. I new that in just a month or two the deer that had just begun their lives would more than likely be killed.
But it was still one of the most beautifully active wooded areas that I have ever seen in Arkansas.
If you love the outdoors, watching wildlife and camping, then you'll definitely love being at White River National Wildlife Reserve.
This place is a great place to get away from all the hassles of everyday life. It's stress free living at it's best.
If your life is suffering from stress overload, then grab your tent, sleeping bag, a few friends and head to White River National Wildlife Reserve!
You'll be glad you did.
Oh, and did I mention that it's totally free!!!
Gotta love that, right?
Mr Bumpers Refuge is the most beautiful in the state! The biggest tree in AR, an old bald cypress is there and I didn’t go it alone on a Sunday. I’ll be back! 😎
