If you are an outdoor fan, then you won't have any problems hiking this trail. My 8 years old son, his teacup puppy, and me walked it and was kinda hard for us since I have bad knees and not used on walking this much, lol. But we still did it and was worth it. Highly recommend it.
My most favorite waterfall in Georgia! This is a great place to take the mile hike to High Shoals Falls and spend a couple hours with a picnic or just listening to the water. They can get busy on the weekends, but a weekday is a great time to have the place to yourself. Highly recommend!
It was well worth the hike but be warned it's not for everybody. 1.3 miles doesn't sound like much but that's 1.3 miles down hill, then 1.3 miles up the mountain side. The trails are pretty decent however but still...not for everyone. Go prepared and start early!
Both the upper falls and lower falls are beautiful. The hike is not hard. However, I would not recommend it to anyone with mobility issues.
The drive from Atlanta was beautiful in the fall. That being said... be aware that the last mile is a gravel road, and you drive over a stream. I would only suggest driving it with a pick up or a jeep.... something rugged. Definitely not a sedan.
Great hike with excellent views of a few falls. It's not bad getting down there but the out trip is fairly uphill. No places to stop in rest if you are too out of shape.
When you pull up to the base of the hill leading up to the hike you have to cross a creek via car. With an SUV you are def good. Car id question.
The hike was well maintained and a good time.
