Husband and I did a drive thru while in the area. First impression = not sure why anyone would stay here. I must have missed the “hidden acres” of features that makes it a great place.

It's become okay due to one of their employees that basically lurks around everyone's camp areas because he must feel like he's the park police, this person makes many people concerned about what he's up to with his lurking around their places.

Seems he has to be watched constantly, if the park was to dump this guy they'd be five star but they don't seem to see the issue with this shady individual.

If you stay at this place better not leave anything of value or shiny around, it will come up missing, sad this one person has been allowed to cause so much chaos in this once beautiful campground.

Rest of the staff is really good, shame one employee causes so much issue for visitors and residents from the folk I spoke with.

And yes I personally experienced this individual being around and things disappearing and the lurking around while my girl was in the camper...

Bottom line the park either ignores this individual and what he's doing or they don't care.

With that said avoid, avoid, avoid until this guy is gone...

We stayed here for the 2010 Boy Scout National Jamboree (the last one at Fort A.P. Hill). Since we were attending as Day-Visitors, we needed to secure our own lodging and this worked out perfectly. We had a fantastic stay in one of the "Scout Cabins" and we are so thankful for your hospitality. God bless and thanks again for letting all of those visiting troops of Scouts camp out on your front lawn.

We stayed for a month and we enjoyed our stay. Some spaces are a bit tight, we didn’t have much sitting room outside the RV, the bathhouse was always clean and we enjoyed our walks around the lake. That being said, there are several small improvements that they are just neglecting to do, (ie getting the nasty boats out of the water, fixing up the main shop floors, fixing the laundry room up)

I've stayed here with friends and I can say very clearly. STAY AWAY! MIKE, the son of the owner is a total creep, he tried several times to corner me and kiss me. Not anywhere I'd want my family to stay. Just a warning to be careful..he lurks around constantly.
