Great remote campground, beautiful old stonework in each site. Trails beware not closely maintained.

My husband an I drove up to the rec area today only to find out it was closed for the season. According to the website, it's suppose to be open until Sept. 15th and today is Aug. 26th. We had our car packed and ready to camp. What a disappointment to drive all the way there for it to be closed. Very, very upsetting.

Paid $3 to park, just to hike a trail (stone mountain crest trail) that has not been maintained. Trees down, weeds up. Give we avid hikers a break. If you aren't going to maintain the trails, then don't charge us to hike them. What a waste of $3!!!
