We booked a 3 hour ride. The views were incredible and our guide, Mark, handled our 1st time rider fabulously when her anxiety over the steep slope became too much for her. Overall it was a unforgettable trip (and the prices were way more competitive then Vail). On a side note, rain can make the trail a bit slick for the horses. Fear not, these horses have you covered!!
My husband, his mom, and I had an unforgettable and wonderful horseback riding experience at Halfmoon Packing & Outfitting. The staff were knowledgeable and kind. The views were stunning, and the horses were easy to ride once they taught you the basics. We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone visiting us. Shoutout to our guide Chicken Wing!
We did a half day ride with my daughters (11 and 14 years). The scenery was magnificent. Beautiful ride through aspen forest. Highly recommended!
My wife and I did the alpine lake fishing trip with Jerry. We had the most amazing day. The ride up was steep and rugged which is exactly what we were hoping for. The scenery could not be beat. We each caught fish and the colors on my wife’s brook trout were incredible. We ended up having some car troubles and Tom and Jerry ended up being far more generous than either of us could have ever imagined. We highly recommend Halfmoon and I would be happy to exchange emails with anybody that would like more info about our experience - we can’t wait to go back.

The horses were great and the trails were pretty rough but hey, it's Colorado.
Our trail guide could have been a whole lot nicer and offered some advice to the first time riders instead of sarcasm, but we managed.
I'll definitely go back for the adventure but I know a few things now about the trails.
