Great photographic opportunities during prime autumn leaves viewing time.
Been coming up camping and hunting here in my family for generations upon generations, even have some family that made this place their forever resting area and chose to be spread up here. Beautiful views but over the last couple years the beetle kill in the trees has gotten worse, more houses have been built, and the deer and elk population has almost disappeared it seems like. I remember the first couple years coming up we’d see deer all over and now you’re lucky to see a decent buck and or doe. Still decent grouse hunting in the area as well as some creek fishing for trout normally there are moose in the area as well especially during the colder months. Unfortunately they have done a lot of logging in the area and in 2020 my cousin and I called Colorado parks and wildlife as we seen a pack of 5 wolves at the bottom side of the pass while scouting for hunting season later in the year. Weather or not they took us serious and believed us who knows but coyotes don’t get to be that big, dark and bushy. Been back every year and haven’t seen them since but have seen every other species that called this range home slowly diminishing
