Private club, great hiking trails and lake, Nordic in the winter
Camped out in the free spots. Seems well maintained and less trafficked than other spots in the state. Train across the river will wake you up once or twice, but that was the only downside to this spot. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Floated Two Bridges to Catamount on Saturday. The fishing was horrible, we caught three fish but everybody I talked to got skunked. Saw a lot fish going after dry flies but they weren't biting. You have to shoot Rodeo if you are going to Burn's too and it was way past our comfort zone.
Camped here in July for several nights when kayaking down from State Bridge. Tons of people on the river between State Bridge and Catamount. Camping is free (there is a proposed change to charge), clean pit toilets, no water, good boat ramp, good road in. We had a shady, spacious, private, river front camp site on the other side of the boat ramp. Most sites had shade. We've surely paid for camp sites offering alot less. The train blew its whistle during the night but it didn't rattle your teeth. Very nice camping.
