This park is located at the intersection of Browns Bridge Road and Appalachee Church Road and was newly dedicated for the late Council member James Shackelford. Before its dedication and reopening, the park was renovated by Scout Troop 774. This park offers camping areas with shelters, and a beautiful nature trail that circles the park.
This park was peaceful, quiet, and hidden away. The trails aren't very long, but there is plenty to explore. They have picnic tables, grills, and a special area where you can camp. They also have various workout stations that were fun. A river runs around the entire park with areas that you are allowed to wade in but I wouldn't personally. A great place to spend a day camp out, bbq, and have a peaceful day.
Wonderful secluded place! I absolutely loved it. Very clean, maintained, and great environment! I can’t wait to camp out here. This place is just absolutely wonderful!
Lovely open field. Great place for a gathering. Work out equipment, and unmade garden beds. Might plan to fix this place up a bit. There are some small trails leading behind the park... but beware!! I heard a man in these woods (I assume homeless) and he was coming for me too, so I headed back to the open field immediately. As soon as I got to the field I was safe!! Don't walk alone in the woods.
It's a nice park and is maintained well but I have seen several people who are strung out on drugs camping down there. Even saw a guy with a machete cutting branches and wood. Would suggest not going down there alone.
I love this little park!! It only has a portapotty and it doesn't really have a playground ,it just has monkey bars !! But it's still a groovy park! It's definitely on my Groovy list
