Was here last year for the Yoga Festival. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am returning this year. This is a great camping experience.

We rented a cabin for a week and had an amazing time. Great get a away vacation and close to home. The staff friendly and polite. Noticeable improvements overall since I first started coming six years ago. The cabin had been very recently rennovated and had a bathroom with standup shower and kitchenette, refrigerator and microwave. I would highly reccomend and will be making frequent return trips again.

I don’t even know where to start as there were SO many things wrong

Let’s start w the fact we booked a cabin for 4 adults , 1 child and a dog.

We confirmed that stay and number of people a week prior to arrival.

We were part of a group of ppl that collectively booked out a half a dozen cabins for the weekend

We Arrived around 11pm Friday night , get into cabin to find out it had ONE bed for 5 people.

There was NO after hours contact number and no one around to solve the situation so of course that meant sleeping on the floor of a very POORLY cleaned cabin.

The next morning I go to the office to solve the problem only to encounter one of the rudest ladies I’ve ever met.

She shows me a reservation sheet that says we booked for 2 people and accused me of trying to avoid paying the 25 dollar fee for each person over 2.

No mind you I booked the cabin myself for 5 ppl and a dog . I personally listened to my wife confirm the cabin for 5 ppl and a dog but yet somehow this was OUR fault we had one bed . Now mind you she tried to charge me FULL RATE for sleeping on the floor.

I asked why is there no after hours number only to be told “we have someone on site” to which I asked was I supposed tl just go around the campground in the middle of the night knocking on doors asking if they worked here to find your on-site person ? Why don’t you have the number posted to reach this person ?

That was when the rude lady behind the counter took a phone call from a resident of the campground questioning his “electric bill” , while I’m standing there trying to solve my one bed issue , she goes off on the caller berating him and telling him “ well if you kept your AC at 77 degrees like a normal person you wouldn’t have this problem” then she proceeds tl hang up on him.

Immediately after having up on him she FINALLY responds to the intercom being buzzed by the person at the front gate .

The person at the front gate says I’ve been buzzing for 20 minutes I thought you are closed . The lady behind the counter says “ we aren’t closed but you’re not as important as you think you are “

Again all of this right in front of me standing there in front of her .

Finally we are given another cabin, so we go to that cabin , move all of our things to this cabin , only to find black mold all over the ceiling over top of the bed.

Back to the office i go , we are told the next cabin they want to put us in won’t be ready for an hour because it needs to be cleaned . After 90

Mins we are given the 3rd cabin and all I’ll say is IT WAS NOT CLEAN.

Filthy floors, dusty, carpet nasty , spider webs , beds not made

Simply unbelievable .

We get home to Virginia unload the car and realize my daughter left behind he specialized work shoes.

We call the campground and no answer. We call for days leaving messages trying to get someone to lol for her shoes , even offer to pay for shipping the shoe to us . We finally got a call back and wee told by the lovely lady” well if you paid attention to your things you wouldn’t have this problem “ and hung up

My brother who lives in the area physically went there 3 times to try to find the shoes for us , no

One was around to even let him in the front gate the first two times.

Once he finally got someone to respond a full week later my brother was told “ our cleaner got hurt so no one has been able to check for the shoes “ now mind you this also means a week has passed and they still hadn’t cleaned any of these cabins.

My brother asked if he could go look for the shoes himself and once again Ms Congeniality behind the counter strikes again and says “ I can’t let you do that , how do I know you’re not going to steal something”

Needless to say somehow my daughters shoes were “never found”

Believe it or not there is even more rudeness to this story but this review is already long enough

In closing DO NOT EVER STAY IN A CABIN HERE

IT IS DIRTY AMD YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE DIRT

STAY AWAY

FAR AWAY

Please do not listen to the negative reviews written about this place! This was my families first time staying at G&R, the staff was amazing! They left us alone when we wanted to be left alone, and helped us when we needed it. We needed wood for our fire and the store was closed already, but they found a way to help us and got us the wood we needed. I saw a review about ticks but didn't see a single tick while I was there. The tent sites are big and have a lot of room, we have a 17 person tent and we fit in one space. I can't say enough good things about this place and will 100% be back.

I stayed in my own RV so cannot speak to the quality of the rooms but it was a nice park, quiet although you can hear kids having fun and playing, conversations here and there, dogs being walked, just enough activity so you know you were around others but nothing that interfered w my own peace and tranquility. I also was here in off season November so Im sure come summer this is a very fun place to stay.
