Wonderful camping spot. Althought there are about 6 camp sites here, but only 1 stall bathroom. Luckily when I went, it was just my girlfriend and myself. It was very nice. The road in is rough because the logging trucks beat the road to hell. There are some big ruts in the road. My Z71 Suburban got through it just fine, but I would not recommend taking anything with less than about 7" of ground clearance. Worth the drive if you could get there.
There's about 5 or 6 campsites with a hole in the ground bathroom. Bathroom was clean. The sites are OK. Lots of downed trees around and hard to really make good use of the space. But since it's over 7,000 feet, we could still have a campfire, and that's awesome with all the strict fire rules nowadays. There's a nice dirt bike path that I walked that goes next to a creek. That was very pretty, but bugs like CRAZY. Beware. Overall, beautiful and worked fine for what we were going for. 2 wheel drive gets there fine, but it's a bumpy road.
Awesome place. I stayed here for one night and it was the perfect getaway. There is a long hour drive on a logging road but it was passable with my dodge Challenger, easily. Just expect a few humps and frame scrapes lol. I arrived around 6pm, asked my neighbors if they minded I camp beside them. Turns out they had some other family member camping. Would be a great place to have a family reunion. They also have cabins for rent as well. You will need to go to the rec.gov site to reserve them. The camp sites are first come first serve.
