Camp in the desert on a private fishing pond. Keep what you catch! Bring your toys as there is plenty of BLM land to explore! I can handle any size RV. I have one RV spot with a 30 amp hookup and water. And 1 RV spot that the RV has to be self contained. I have 1 camping spot near the pond to pitch your own tent and you would need to bring your own camping toilet. Water is available in each area. No swimming allowed and children under 12 must wear a life vest when around the pond or anyone else that cannot swim. There is a lot of rocks and vegetation near the pond that people can easily trip over.
Turn right onto dirt road that follows the east fence of property to the gate
Great Experience for the family.
While there we saw eagles, fish, wild birds, otter, bull frog, giant lizard, raspberries and black berries.
Took a walk down the trails which are like tree caves.
Suggest shoes vs sandals and bring water and a trail snack if you plan on doing the full loop.
Very cool facility. Great nature trail and bird habitat. They have native endangered fish species that they stock out to help with species restoration. Colorado Pike Minnows are great....who doesn't like a fish that can get 6 foot long and weigh 85 pounds. Would be an amazing native sport fish for the state to pursue for anglers.
This Fish Hatchery has several easy hiking trails around it. There are resting benches spaced throughout. Signs describe plants.
Great place for a short walk. Very peaceful here. Saw lots of ducks and butterflies. A deer walked right by me. Will come again.
Several fish ponds that attract different types of birds. Some walking trails as well. Limited parking.
