The Equestrian Campground off Illinois Route 113 is open from April 1 through October 31. Equestrian trails operate on a seasonal basis. There is no water available in the Equestrian Campground.
Nice parking and easy access. Tables need some attention
Nice scenic hike by the water only down side is there are no shops or gas stations for about 8 to 10 miles in each direction so make sure you stop before you get to this place
Pit toliet was very clean. Had to pump the water 85 times to prime it. All the picnic tables are bad in some way.
When it takes 40 pumps to start the non potable well water pump... it's a concern..
Pit toilets are clean. Plenty of spaces to camp... this a horse campground... not just a campground.. don't go there without a horse.
Don't upset the horse owners who go there to ride their horses. No water... no electric... I was invited as a guest and their was three horses... out of 8 spaces, only 3 has places to tie your horses. All of the picnic tables are damaged in some way... and graffiti behind the pit toilet..
