For those who like rustic, primitive environs, an area overlooking the Fox River is available for Youth Group camping. No vehicles are permitted in the camp area, so it requires backpacking a short distance. Only the sounds of nature surround campers in this heavily-wooded area along the river, a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of life.
Great place for a casual hike! Dog friendly and fishing is also allowed. The place has multiple trail loops. The trials are from easy to low medium range. They also have a toboggan hill if you like have fun.
Nice short hike, different routes, different spots to park.
The route that goes by the river is really nice. Be sure to do the short path to the spring. And finally pop out again by the lake. Pretty serene area. Lots of people fishing.
Nature is great way to destress, this place offers for me exactly that, lots of lots of water, lots of trees, many different trails for hiking, running, biking, walking... whatever you wish. I visited end of summer, cannot wait to visit mid fall also .
Poorly managed this gemstone. While an ideal place for fishermen administration fails to make this park a welcoming heaven for future generations. No recycling bins, no information about fauna in the park or about pathways markings, poorly maintained bathrooms and only two - no flush - open in January. Small parking for buses.Old trees or suffocating vines not trimmed or removed
