From town: Go 4 mi N on Hwy 136, then 2 mi W on New Wine Park Lane.
Nice place, well kept. Plenty of
trees. Electric, water and dump
station .
Great little county campground, down in the valley, quiet and green, right along the north fork of the Maquoketa river. Electricity and water on most sites. Very near the Field of Dreams movie site and a few other hidden gems in rural Iowa. Relax and enjoy!
I live close to this park so anytime I want to get out and about I swing by here. Nice and green each time I've went between may-september. The trail heads aren't very laid out from the start, but once you get going they added the signs directing you which is a great touch. If I didn't have my app "All Trails" I would have gotten lost before the signs went up. Easy to follow trail, kept up pretty nice and wide. Could walk a dog.Photos are from my recent trip- September 7th
Very nice out of the way location. Right outside of the beautiful trees and stream that runs through the campground is nothing but Farm Fields so it's a little deceptive when you're driving out to it but beautiful and quiet. Probably no more than two dozen campsites maximum
30 amp and water at the site. Dump station is accessible for bigger buses. Shower houses are clean. Nothing there but nature, tons of bugs, some feral cats, otters, and rabbits. Very peaceful.
