About Campground

Our campground was founded in 1980 on a family owned estate established in the mid 1800's in the historical community of Kings Sandhill. We are just a short drive off of I-95 in Coastal Ga,near Brunswick,Ga; only minutes away from the beaches of The Golden lsles of Ga, Okefenokee Swamp Park and Northeast Fl. As you meander down our well maintained dirt road you will soon be captivated by our wide open environment of unparalleled natural beauty. Our nontraditional camp sites will never leave you with concerns about your slide outs or awning invading the space of neighboring campers. Many of our guest enjoy spending their days listening to the sounds of birds chirping. While others are content just watching the river roll by without hearing the nose of automobile or emergency vehicles.

Whether you are seeking that perfect 100 year old primitive cabin, a rustic cabin, Camp Site or vacation home. We can meet all of your unique needs. All of our property offers beautiful river overlooks, fishing, boating, hiking, camping, nature watching and picnicking. Quiet early risers may be treated with a view of wild ducks, turkey, deer, and squirrel or a variety of birds including red head woodpeckers, hawks, kites and owls.

We provide an all natural, relaxed and secluded environment nestled under great oaks and tall pines bathed by The Great Satilla River.

If you enjoy a quiet, neat and clean, true country environment reminiscent of days past, then we have just the camp ground that you have been searching for. We are dedicated to providing you an environment of unparalleled natural beauty that focuses on privacy, peace and quiet. Let us show you how to escape the crowds and noise of the city without being confined to just another cookie cutter resort. Come and enjoy a unique riverfront escape in a cabin, vacation home or Rv site. We are also an ideal base camp or stop over for your canoe or kayak trip down the Satilla. No asphalt, just green grass and beautiful forestry.

Our goal is to provide you a naturally beautiful, affordable and peaceful environment highlighted by personal and helpful service.

We enjoyed this quiet campground for a week. We had water and electric only but there spots with sewer hookups. The water has a sulphur smell that was quite strong at first but seemed to lessen over the week. There was a dump station close to our site which we were able to use. There are no public bath rooms to review. Our AT&T service worked. We took a day trip to Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge with our kayaks and had a wonderful paddle with the alligators. If you like being out in the woods far from town this is your spot. We would come back here.

Mr Ron was extremely helpful, he got us checked in our site, and even showed us to our destination by letting us follow him. He was so kind and friendly. The campground is very secluded on the river but I still had AT&T service on my phone. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return again.

Stayed at Site #3 on the Satilla River for two nights. Wonderful camp host and owner. Beautiful setting. The river is peaceful.

PROS: - lovely setting and very private. Right up close to the river. Very quiet, tho we were here on a Monday and Tuesday in a major heat wave, not many people want to camp in south GA then. No bathhouse - you must be self-contained. (We are) Loved having full hookups.

CONS: - booking process is a bit confusing, it works, but…. The Internet/cell access is dicey - we had decent coverage with our Verizon, TMobile was flakey. Road into the campground is dirt. We’re towing a big travel trailer and tho road had recently been graded, I was so glad it was dry. Leaving our site nearly took off our awning - it would be helpful if a few trees on the road out were removed. We literally had inches to spare after backing up and trying again. The dirt road is graded with soft edges and a steep drop off of 6-8 inches. The cut needed to get truck and trailer out is super tight. If the tire slips off the road, a tow will be needed. We actually dragged the tucked up trailer stairs a bit in the dirt leaving. We have a RAM Crew Cab with a 37 foot TT.

This was a good experience - a nice campsite by the river, mostly quiet, little boat traffic, fish jumping, owls calling. :)

Most peaceful campground ever!

Located by a river, nestled half mile in the woods, spacious sites, full hook ups. Great camp host Kathy, helped us every step of the way. Highly recommend
