From jct of I-395 & Hwy 14: Go W on Hwy 14 for 25-1/2 mi (milepost 155) to Sonova St, then N on Sonova for 100 ft, then E on Butte Rd, then .9 mi to Park.
This is a restricted access, island based park and campground. Restrooms were closed and locked when I visited, as was the entry shack and a concession stand despite it being noon on a summer Monday. Signs were plastered everywhere reinforcing their rules, which were many. There is a day-use fee but no envelopes were provided to collect it and the park host was not around. The park itself was pretty, with lots of shade from mature trees, and plenty of well manicured grass for picnicking. The dock and boat ramp is large, with plenty of parking, there is a campground farther along the road, but unless you have paid reservations you aren't even allowed to drive through to check it out first. Surveillance cameras in use and speed (5-15 mph limit) is monitored by radar. Honestly, although it was a lovely area, I got the distinct feeling they are trying to limit access to an exclusive clientele!! I will not go back and wouldn't even consider paying to camp there. There are nicer places to spend the day by the river that are free.
Had a wonderful time! Campsite was amazing. The play area was so nice our grandson played there and in the swimming area for hours. Thank you for having so many picnic tables it was nice to be able to sit and enjoy watching him. The camp host was great very friendly, always waving and smiling every time he passed by. Thank you for a great time!! We will be back.
Rolled in late afternoon. Wayne the camp host was awesome. We had a great conversation while he was checking us in. My son and I were on a week long adventure.
Camp was immaculate. Bathrooms were very clean and well stocked.
Campsites were large and well maintained.
Nice breeze off the river at night, but ot was really hot that week.
Will definitely go back. Really enjoyed our stay

Crow'z Nest is the cutest little food booth. Thank you Jasmine for bring me out here I love it. Thank you Michelle for letting me help out with the free snow cones for everyone on this wonderful 4th of July. I definitely will be coming back. The public benches are movable so you can move then together. There is a small little lagoon area that is so warm and still water attached to the river that cools down where you can float or boat. Plus the camp grounds are reasonably priced for $20 per night or you can get a season pass for I believe $60.
