You must have a Georgia fishing or hunting license to camp here otherwise there is no charge. It's so peaceful. Out of about 6 campsites we are the only ones here. The Blue Hole is on down the road and Ellison's Cave is down a trail beside the Blue Hole. There is a lot of traffic in and out to the Blue Hole otherwise it's very quiet. If you choose to visit the cave definitely bring water with you. The trail is steep long and strenuous. I would highly recommend it.
Even in the heat of summer, this water is very cold. Have a sense of adventure to find it! Signs few and far between to find it.
Easy access. Well known by locals, so it gets crowded fast. Sometimes there is no one else there. It's also a trail head to a cave that one has to sign in before going.
The area around the water needs some TLC and the bridge has seen better days but it’s still a beautiful little spot to get away to. I miss the days when you were able to camp closer to the water but people kept disrespecting the area and we ended up losing that privilege.
beautiful little spring hole. Water seems to be low right now, but I bet after a few good rains this spring will pump much harder and raise the level of the water. With that said, the water quality has a beautiful blue tint to it, and the water is clear and cold . Perfect for a summer swim! Consider yourself lucky to have this awesome natural resource if you live nearby, and please take care of it!
