About Campground

Country Bumpkins Campground has been a family owned and operated campground vacation spot for 25 years. We are dedicated to providing clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations in the heart of the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. We have 6 fully equipped cabins, 2 travel trailer rentals and a campground with 67 campsites for both tents and RVs. Our mission is to provide a comfortable, safe, fun yet simple and relaxing camping experience for for every member of your family. We are nestled in a cozy setting along the Pemigewasset River and Bog Brook with a small man made duck and trout pond in the center which we stock for viewing and feeding. The main section of Campground and RV Park offers mostly open (not wooded), riverfront, brook and pond sites for tents and RVs. We can accommodate up to a 40' RV on a few sites. Our RV sites have water and electric, some with full hookups. Our tent sites are primitive - they do not have water or electricity at them. The tent sites are located on the river, brook and the pond, most of the RV sites are not on the water but still just a short walk away. Since 2014: We have expanded the campground northward to the old 'Cold Springs Campground'. This North section of campground has 22 of those 67 sites and another bathhouse. Most of the tent sites in this section are in a wooded area along the river. The sites are wooded but not private. There are 5 full hookup sites (without cable) that can accommodate up to 32' RVs. New for 2017 - we now have 7 full hookup sites for bigger RVs!! These 7 sites now have water, electric, sewer and cable and have been upgraded this year to 50/30/20 amp to accommodate most RVs. Plus 2 of these RV sites are also on the River! We have also upgraded our WiFi so that it reaches throughout the North Section!!!There is also a small beach area at the river.

Our first time here we stayed in Cabin 1, loved it! Adorable and perfect for us to have space but not got lost. We enjoyed walking out the door and sitting by the river. It was so peaceful, we have gone back several times with our camper. We loved the tranquility of the campground and the kindness of the owners so much we decided to get married there. A small family wedding, we stayed in our camper, the kids tent camped while the older generation slept in the cabins. Everyone loved it. We came back this year for our first anniversary and will continue to do so. You can see it's a family run business, they work hard to keep it a nice campground, clean bathrooms, just an overall good vibe. Watching everone in the river hanging out and tubing was grear. Can't recommend highly enough!

I have been staying at Bumpkins for over 27 years. We stayed up here several times each summer and knew the previous owners very well. I was curious when Mario and Diane bought it several years ago. Was hoping that they kept the same quiet (once all the kids are in bed) and kid friendly atmosphere. Yup, they nailed it. My grown children essentially grew up there and on all the trails in the Whites. We always felt comfortable allowing the kids free roam (obviously not bothering other people). The same holds true today. They river is amazing. So much for kids and adults alike to explore. Bathrooms are always well kept and the store has just enough of the basic goods. They even deliver firewood! This is not the place to come if you want quiet and privacy. Hence FAMILY campground. The sites are small and open. We always found that safer for the kids and it creates a more community feeling. Usually we tent, but have also stayed in the cabins. They are really cute and have basic amenities. My guess is that the people who leave negative reviews are simply not following the basic reasonable rules that they sign off on. In which case, they should not book a reservation and leave it to the people who love it there.

After spending 2 separate trips to this absolutely beautiful location, we couldn't be happier. We had an after hours check in, and just as we were advised, everything was ready for us, including the Firewood. The entire facility was very well maintained. It is a small campground, but very well thought out. Being on the side of the river, is so relaxing. Can't wait to spend another weekend there.

Only had pleasant interactions with the..owners? Friendly, super helpful and informative. She even lended us her can opener after we forgot ours. We certainly appreciated this.

The camp grounds are clean, beautiful and quiet. Everything is easy to access with just a short walk. Beautiful river front views and the sound of running water was extremely peaceful at night. There is an awesome pond with ducks in it throughout the day. Its Situation right in the center

The tent site was a bit smaller and closer together than I thought. None the less, it was still big enough for a 10 person tent and it was clean. The soft grass was a nice change up from the typical hard dirt you encounter at other camp grounds.

We stayed for the NH highland games. I gotta say, the absolute best part of staying at this campgrounds was all the other people staying for the games as well. Saturday night when they canceled the games, a lot of people were bummed out. But then right around 830pm, a fellow camper started to play some beautiful music on his bagpipes. It Really made the whole night perfect and brought our spirits up. Thank you to whoever you are! I'll certainly be booking here again for next year.
