Do yourself a favor and skip over this place! Not worth it especially with his deceiving description about everything. He's trying to get $ from us through airbnb over something we couldn't prevent because the "tents" are already damaged and don't lock properly! He is unprofessional and petty. The whole area needs attention and if you look around all the "tents" have issues and there is a community Kuerig? Seriously? Also over priced for what you don't get that says it's included. We thought we had settled things after calling him out and he gave us $22 bucks back but just a winey host who could fix it for less than 10 bucks. Don't say I didn't warn you!
We booked the camping site with a big group of +-54 people (we all got Covid tested and took health precautions) and enjoyed this beautiful camping spot for MLK weekend. The camping site is great, tucked away in between the mountains and has all the amenities you need. (Warm showers, private & clean toilets, BBQ, firepits,...) It's located next to the river so you can take a nice morning dip. Staff is super helpful and super responsive. Beds are very comfortable and the tents have the best views. Would 100% recommend!
The campground is very new and has some nice amenities. The showers have great water pressure. We really liked the view from the tents. Great access to the river and Covid friendly. Employees were super helpful and sweet.
We stayed overnight on Valentine's Day. We loved it but you need to remember that it's still being built so it looks a bit like a construction zone in some areas. Our canvas tent felt secure against the crazy wind. The bed was delicious! We are backpackers so definitely slept in our super warm sleeping bags too. It's rugged, not glam camping, but just simple. View was incredible! Wifi sketchy and not a good zone for any internet connection. Nice employees, low key, unintrusive. We will return soon.
I loved this glamping up by Kernville, it was so cute and cozy, the canvas tent was great to sleep in, and meant I could pack less for the trip. The tents are spacious, well appointed and from what I saw most spots afforded a lovely amount of privacy from neighbors...esp as compared to a typical fed/state campground. We brought extra blankets (mid-April) but probably could have done fine with what was provided plus a hat. We were worried about the site after seeing a review that it was in disarray. The site is still being developed and I wouldn’t let my kids run around without supervision because of that, but for anyone with common sense and reasonable expectations it is great. Lounging in the tent with the doors pulled open and a cool breeze in the warm midday air was 👌
