Beaver Lake Campground sits south of Beaver Lake with 11 camping sites nestled under spruce trees. Some sites have view of lake, open meadow and towering cliffs, while tent sites, located on a dead end spur, are nicely secluded. Beaver Lake is a popular fishing lake for day users, as well as, campers. Heavy 4-wheeler traffic along main access road. There is no drinking water at this campground, but water is available 1 mile south at Silver Jack Campground. There are no close communities to get provisions so visitors need to bring everything they need.
From Cimarron, CO, take US Rt. 50 east 2.2 miles to Forest Access/Silver Jack Reservoir sign. Turn right onto gravel road and go 6.1 miles to an intersection (RDP 77). Bear left onto RDP 77 (dirt - rocky and rough in places) and go 9.9 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
Over all an excellent experience. There's plenty of camping sites and lakes to visit. Our little ones fell in love with the natural beauty.
Beautiful small lake with a very nice campground. We spent the day here over labor day. We swam and paddle boarded in the lake here. It's a beautiful spot.
