Camp host here goes by HIS rules, not the forest service. Host is a detriment to this riparian habitat. Allows and encourages illegal camping in the area. Does not open day use area until “I want”……his words. Host has very little knowledge of forest rules and should not be serving in this capacity. Just look at the reviews from when this person started this assignment…..horrible. Please help to get this unqualified person removed from this site.

Clean campsite! Each area has a fire pit with " grill" to cook on. Restrooms are clean but not bug free. Take an easy hike to the creek and go for a refreshing swim. Very friendly host, knowledgeable about the area. Tent camping, group area & 5th wheel.

Absolutely love this location to slip away from town and stay. The camp host goes above and beyond for the campers!!! I have brought my daughter and now her friends out for the first time to experience this beautiful spot. Lots of hikes, views, and solitude ❤️

Nice campground near a lovely creek with lots of meandering trails. If you go upriver a couple of miles, there is reportedly a sandstone canyon that goes on for many miles more.

Check the forest service website before you pay. It’s $24 a night, with the usual half off if you have the appropriate senior pass, but the host seemed a little confused about the rules.

If the Campground Full sign is up, it might not be the case. When we came the sign was up, but the place was more than half empty.

It’s very busy and possibly noisy on weekends and holidays.

It’s a bit buggy and the cicadas are very loud but they quiet down at night. The owls and coyotes then do their thing, so my earplugs came in handy.

Stayed at this lovely campground multiple times; every time I return, I enjoy relaxing in the peace and beauty of nature. The grounds are well kept and safe feeling. My favorite parts are the river and the waterways, with the trees shading along the trails. The mesa is a great place to watch the sunset or just a perfect vista to survey the land around. The host was super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's a plus that there is firewood and ice for sale. I'll be looking forward to my next visit here. 😊
