We went for the first time over the 4th of July weekend. We did tent camping with our two dogs. The campground was really clean and facilities were nice. There is a posting that all dogs must stay on a leash or tie 6 feet or less. We have no problem with this. There were several people in the tent section and trailer section who chose to have their little dogs off leash, which is definitely frustrating. There is ample shade and fire pits are built in the ground. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

My first time here and I am so glad we booked this one. I read the family friendly reviews plus we have 2 little dogs.

The sites are big enough to have 2 15x9 tents plus a 4-6 person tent. I wish we knew that because we let our friends bring their 15x9 and we brought our 6 person for my husband, 3 and year 5 old and 3 month old. We were almost crammed.

Anyhow, T6 had a picnic table and all sites have fire pits. There was a big grassy area for kids to play right next to us.

We were so close to the water we could watch our kids from our site. The water was calm and very shallow, maybe 3 feet if that once you got closer to the buoys.

You can't park by any sites but parking is close enough. We will bring our wagon next time because it was a lot of back and forth.

Our kids had a blast in the water all day. The weather was great and star gazing at night was so beautiful. The wind picks up which is good for kites.

The bathrooms were nice and tidy with soap and toilet paper. There aren't any trash cans anywhere including the bathroom but there are dumpsters.

The mosquitos come out around 6 so be prepared. When you first wake up there's several bugs in anything you leave out, plus those cluster of bugs flying but they go away once you're up and moving. We found a wasp nest under picnic table so be careful for things like that.

There are trees all around that provide shade. We setup under a tree and birds pooped on our tent a few times. We won't do that again.

I gave 4 stars because there's no showers, no parking on site, and no trash in bathrooms,

I hope you find this review helpful. 😊

As far as fishing and parks go North Park is nice. Plenty of places to fish of the shore or docks. Clean bathrooms and room for the kids to run around. It can get windy so dress accordingly.
