About Campground

YMCA Camp Sherwin, located on the banks of Lake Erie, is a public outdoor recreation and camping center. We have been serving the region since 1912 as a destination for family and youth recreation and outdoor exploration. It is the perfect place to spend summer days! Organized activities keep the kiddos smiling! And, when fall comes, Camp’s extended season is ideal for hunters, fishermen, families and groups.

I was on a Senior picnic from the YMCA, it is a great place to come when you have the time to enjoy nature they have a swimming pool that you can use if you have a Y pass.If you want to go to the beach you have to ascend 102 steps to get to the beach, it is at your discretion or your own risk.

We stayed here over Father’s Day weekend, every bit of the experience was great! The cabin we stayed it was really nice and clean, also right next to the pond. The pool and splash pad were enjoyable, along with the fishing derby. Staff were super nice, can’t wait to go back. 10/10 recommend!

Stayed in tiny cabins. The cabin we stayed in was decent. But the grounds around the camp were less than satisfactory. We stayed for 3 nights 1 day of rain and rest dry. The field and cabin areas were saturated all 3 days. The area by the cabins were semi wooded and poison ivy was just outside the cabin. My kids and I were covered in poison ivy. The bathhouse was not as clean as I expected. I couldn't find a clean toilet seat the duration of our stay. Had to bring my own sanitizer to wipe them off before use. Other than that love the view and people camping around us.

The cabins are spacious and comfortable looking on my tour. Plenty of on site activities, biking, heated outdoor pool, basketball, pickleball a huge jumping dome. Accommodates tent, porches on cabins . Awesome personal, just ask any question.
