The campground is very nice. The lake is pretty, allows fishing and kayaking but not a lake you would want to swim in. Lots of hiking/biking trails there too. Only draw back that I noticed was that on a Saturday there was a group staying at the campground and they blasted their music loud, all day and evening. I and several other people felt that the people should have had to keep the music down to a level that just their own campsite would hear it. Literally we could hear the music while on a hike way away from the campsites. Other than that, it was a good experience.

This was a very bad experience.

10pm quite time means nothing here...so if you want to relax this is not the place.

Also they charge you a lot but for example if you want to use dumped station you can but no water...that is really a joke...music was loud and no security people were here to quite them down. It is ok from people to play loud music as long as they want regardless of other campers but if you come here after 10pm you can't even get in.... horrible place...stay away.

Bullfrog Lake Campground has quickly become a beloved destination for our family! Initially unsure about what to expect, given its proximity to the city, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the campground's stunning beauty. We felt secure throughout our stay, and the facilities were clean too!

While the campground may not boast an extensive array of amenities, it ensures that families can fully immerse themselves in nature and create lasting memories. We were particularly delighted by the educational sessions organized by the dedicated staff. These sessions added an extra layer of enjoyment and learning to our experience.

All in all, Bullfrog Lake Campground has exceeded our expectations. We recommend it to anyone seeking a safe, serene, and enriching camping adventure.

Looks great and not many people know there is camping available in Cook County. This is next to Maple Lake forest preserve and the area is beautiful

I love this place ! We have been winter camping here on weekends all winter and I love everything about this place . It’s incredible that you can get here in about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago ((when traffic is light )). It’s so peaceful here. The cabins are beautiful… I’ve never stayed in one but they look brand new and gorgeous!!!
