Nice park with plenty of space. Camping sites from wilderness to water and electric service. They have a septic station to dump.
Plenty of trails to hike on, all are mostly flat, with many shaded.
Beautiful park with lakes and camping spots. There are a few picnic shades with BBQ grills right beside the lake. The campground is quite popular and we saw a lot of RVs. The picnic shades do not have electric outlets.
There are restrooms available nearby (without running water). If you want nicer restrooms, you can go to the visitor center. There are benches at different locations throughout the park (some are near the lake) where you can sit and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. I want to go back during Fall to see Fall colors :)
A spacious county park with multiple picnic shelters and one of the most popular public campgrounds in the area. As is the case with many parks in the Land of Lincoln, the biggest draw to this park is undoubtedly the beautiful lake/reservoir. Evergreen Lake offers multiple boat ramps, a swimming beach (and beach house), fishing piers, and lakeside and/or lake view campsites and trails. Canoes (and other similarly small watercraft) can be rented (seasonally) at the boat ramp by the beach house. Other venues provided at this park that you might not find at every other area park include an extensive mountain biking trail system and a multi-target archery range. There’s a good chance that regardless of the activities that first draw you to this park, it’ll be the feelings of relaxation and rejuvenation that continue to bring you back.
This is a wonderful park! I love camping here and have spent many hours in a hammock while overlooking this beautiful lake. If you live in or around the Bloomington/Normal area this lake is by far the best place to catch a stunningly beautiful sunset.
