This is high-end primitive camping, off-grid living, camping as a lifestyle.
You'll have privacy, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, outdoor summer shower, winter bathhouse, water where you need it, battery packs for fans, lamps, and charging devices, compost potty stations, propane heater, bugs, and fun things to do in the area…
What you'll lack is Wifi and great signal for phones - exactly what camping doesn't need anyhow.
You'll be comfortable in all seasons. I lived in both places until it was so.
Come connect with Mother Nature, as you like it.
Keyauwee Program Center does not stand by their LGBTQIA+ staff members. Not a safe place for queer or trans staff, and especially not queer or trans youth.
This is a place to find wilderness therapy and adventure therapy for the indoor soul. You will find loads of fresh air, challenging activities, and stunning views of the Caraway mountains. I have visited four times this year already, and I am impatient to return.
Great summer camp loved by generations of girls scouts. The programs are fun and the girls have looked forward to returning year after year. There are day camps and events throughout the year. Girls need to become a member of Girl Scouts (easy online sign-up) to attend the day or overnight camps but do not need to be a member of a troop. There are a variety of overnight summer camps for a variety of interests. Descriptions and more info can be found on the camplikeagirl.org keyauwee website.
My daughters have enjoyed going to Camp Keyauwee. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a variety of things to do. The paddle boats are very outdated and should be replaced.
We just picked up my daughter from Girl Scout summer camp this morning. She had a GREAT time! We always enjoy ourselves during any Girl Scout activities that take place at Keyauwee. Great job girls!
