Great views and clean mountain air.
It is near the top of a mountain, so expect winds to be stronger than lower elevations.
The campsites are on a slope, so it can be challenging to find level areas for tents. Plenty of trees to find shade from the sun under but not dense enough to shelter from rain. The trees are mostly pine, so use of the camp fires can be prohibited if the conditions are windy.
Each site has a firepit and a picnic table. Some sites have bear lockers too but not all.
The outhouses were clean and well maintained. No running water in them though, so bring your own hand sanitizer. There are water spigots dotted around the campground for convenience.
Plenty of nice hiking trails.
The North Lodge is a 10min walk if you do want to get food, drinks or snacks next to a warm fire. They also have a disc golf area too for a fun activity.
Campsites with shade: #19, 66, 68, 69, 99, 111, 112.
Beautiful spacious campground! Very clean. It has nice hiking trails, bathrooms, running water, all sites have fire pits and picnic tables, some sites have bbq grills and bear boxes.
Check the weather before coming. It gets very windy which makes it colder.
Price: $30 per night.
No showers.
Great place. Sign said full but they didn't change sign. Check in at the lodge 1st. Great trails and sites. Good privacy. Spot # 101 has good shade. The lodge has great food. I stayed for 3 days. I'll be back. Copy/use pics as you wish.
Great place to come with friends and family to enjoy the natural, serene mountains. It was snowing at the time I went lots of if traffic coming up. Make sure you get there early to get a good spot. Clean, for the most part, restrooms are nearby. Please pick up after yourselves. Also, take into consideration that it is a natural habitat to certain wildlife, rattlesnakes, bears, and even mountain lions have been sighted, be careful, and be respectful of the wildlife.
