About Campground

Hanna Flat Campground is a family-friendly facility nestled in the pine-covered mountains of Southern California. It offers access to a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities and a beautiful location to enjoy nature. Recreation A number of hiking and biking trails are nearby, including 3.5-mile Gray's Peak Trail that connects to Hanna Flat Trail, and 10 miles of unmarked trails that lead to Coxcomb Creek. Fishing and boating at nearby Big Bear Lake are popular activities. Anglers can look forward to a catch of trout, bluegill, crappie, catfish and largemouth bass. Because of cold water temperatures and the presence of underwater obstacles near the shorelines, swimming at the lake is often discouraged. Facilities The campground offers over 80 single-family sites for tent or RV camping. Some sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets and trash collection are provided, but no hookups are available. A dump station is available at nearby Serrano Campground. A portion of the road to the campground is rough dirt, but within the campground, the roads are paved. Natural Features The campground is located off the Rim of the World Scenic Byway in the San Bernardino Mountains. A dense pine forest covers the area, where portions of the campground are heavily shaded. Some sites offer more privacy due to thick shrub growth. The area is home to a variety of wildlife and birds. Nearby Attractions The town of Fawnskin is less than 3 miles from the campground, offering groceries, restaurants and fuel. contact_info For facility specific information, please call (909) 866-8550. I loved the campground and the host, (Kim?) was lovely. Unexpected surprise was hearing frogs singing all night 🥰

Campground features: scorpions, birds, bears, deer and probably a mountain lion or two. Camp hosts have firewood for sale. Lots of hiking right from the campground. Toilets are vaults & well maintained but primitive. Lots of TP there but it is single ply etc. There is potable water from taps, no sinks around. I never figured out what to do with our grey water so tried to keep it at a minimum.

Camping is rustic and the road to the campground was like a roller coaster. We saw an RV leaving and honestly have no idea how it didn't flip over. You will definitely want a high clearance vehicle.

Campsite was nice and clean upon arriving, bear boxes were at every site and highly recommend using them. Not all campsites are level.

Wonderful place to get away. Just a couple hours from civilization, but feels like the middle of nowhere, away from road noise, and cell service. Sites are reasonably sized, but fairly close together. Don't expect privacy. Onsite water, deep fire pits, firewood for sale by the host, picnic tables, and bear boxes.

Such a great campground. My friend and I stayed at site 78 and it was fine. It's near the entrance but it wasn't horrible. There is a hiking trail nearby and it takes you to some beautiful scenery. The rock formation in the picture, is from the hike. Each space was a good size and it's just sooo beautiful.

This campground was so nice!!! The staff Kim and Matt were friendly when we arrived and informed us of the hiking trails, safety tips, and even had firewood available to buy on site. The camp site was clean and the campground smelt so good. There were so many trees that offered shade and the little critters around were cute to watch. Have been to this campground a couple of times and we always look foreword to it! Definitely recommend!!!

Simply amazing place! We absolutely adore here. It was about 20 minute north west of big bear so not lot of people coming by, which for me was a huge plus.

They have this amazingly beautiful trail. One was 7 miles long, which we didn’t go lol. The other was 2.5 miles long, a perfect distance for your little kids!

It is very well kept and clean overall. They have this metal bin on every site that you can safely store food without animals trying to get your food.

They do have a lot of bird. I mean A LOT of birds. If you leave any snacks outside accidentally, they are gone 100%.

WILL COME BACK HERE.
