About Campground

Reversed Creek Campground is a small, shaded and private facility in the June Lake area of the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. Within a few miles, campers can access two lakes with fishing and boating opportunities, scenic views and the small town of June Lake. Recreation A variety of water and land-based activities surround the campground. Gull Lake, across from the campground entrance, and nearby June Lake offer great rainbow trout fishing. Campers also enjoy paddling down Mono Creek or hiking the area's various trails, including one to Mammoth Rock and scenic Sherwin Lakes and Gaylor Lake Trails. A drive along the June Lake Loop results in expansive views of rugged mountain peaks and several lakes. Facilities This is a small facility with private campsites well-spaced around a loop. Each campsite can accommodate a 30-foot vehicle. The facility provides drinking water, flush toilets and bear-proof lockers for food storage. Campers can make use of the boat ramp and marina at nearby June Lake Campground, as well as a swimming beach at Oh Ridge Campground. Natural Features The campground sits at an elevation of 7,600 feet in a stand of mature aspen trees. The area is surrounded by 11,000 and 12,000' peaks. Many species of wildlife call the mountains home, such as black bear, mountain lions, mule deer, pine marten, pika and numerous fish and birds. Nearby Attractions Hikers can access the scenic Ansel Adams Wilderness via nearby trails, and Mono Lake and Yosemite National Park are great day trips. This is a very nice camp. The host seems to be doing a good job of keeping it clean. There were ample water taps and a pretty central restroom and garbage cans. The restrooms were pretty clean but the TP was great. Typically campgrounds use that paper thin stuff and you have to unwind 20 feet of it to do the job. This was still very thin but not so thin it would break when you tried to unwind it and you could get the job done with only a couple of feet of paper.

As a bonus, the dispenser is so close to the toilet you can rest your head on it if you are there for a while. I didn’t get a great shot but here ya go.

Nice little campground in an excellent location to explore June Lake and the Mammoth area. The camp host is top notch, super helpful. Restrooms are immaculate with flush toilets. Didn't expect that.

Large size camping locations, there's water and restrooms.

Lots of hiking nearby, and restaurants are within 20 min walk

We stayed for the first time at Reverse Creek Campground. At first, we loved it, but someone got into the trailer we rented and stole my things that were on the bed, my under clothes, all my toiletries, sweatshirt, clothes. I had them laying on the bed to take with me to shower at Silver Lake. I had forgotten them, so my husband came back to get them, and they were gone! Fortunately, my husband came back, because it could’ve been much worse!

Then….on a Friday night, about 6 families partied hard until 3 am! The host did nothing!

That was the final straw. We were packing up to go home several days earlier than planned. I saw the campground host and voiced my displeasure. He wasn’t shocked, or even remorseful. And then he showed me where the trailer rental kept their hideaway key! I had a gut feeling he’s the one who broke into our trailer, and that confirmed it! I notified the trailer rental place, and told them about how he showed me where the key was. She said he wasn’t supposed to know that. So on top of the theft and the loud arty, we will never be using this campground again!
