From Interstate 8, take the Boulevard exit. Proceed south to the stop sign at Old Highway 80.Turn east (left) on Old Highway 80.At approximately two miles, turn north (left) on McCain Valley Road. Continue on McCain Valley Road for approximately four miles.
Amazing place to visit. It is the McCain Valley road off of the old highway 80 in eastern San Diego. The road is dirt , however, very well maintained. There is a wind-farm her and you can get up and close the the turbines. The Carrizo Scenic Overlook has quite an amazing view to the east that on a good day, one can see the Salton Sea. And by the way, watch out for the rattlesnakes which are in season now (June 2020)
