Booger Red Hill is a good 'pick' if you feel the itch. Sometimes it's a bit crusty, and other times it can be slick. Most prefer to solo this attempt, but comfortable audiences often don't mind you picking Booger Red Hill.
A nice calm hike up, it is on BLM land which means that anyone can go, but there is some land nearby that is privately owned. There is no fence between the two areas, so be careful.
A nice easy hike to the top, about 4 miles round trip. On the other side of the hill you can go all the way to the edge of a big cliff over four mile creek.
Love coming here whenever possible. Met our new hiking buddies here too! Really beautiful wildflower meadows in the spring, great boulders and cliffs for rock climbing and the coolest hidden canyon with a beaver creek. Very worth the hike even if it is short! Amazing ecology in the water system and an old shack type cabin with a dumped in roof. We live a few miles away and prefer Booger Red to Eleven Mile Canyon. Free to go hike for the day, great camping areas before the open range hiking zone, and a startable hiking path to get you into the good fields.
