Soon after arriving, asked the office to please move a picnic table to our RV site which did not have one, as my partner was not able to help carry one from another site, and I was told they would, but then dissed me, never sent anyone to help move one. Wifi is non-existent outside of lobby. Bathrooms and showers were marginally OK. Lots of dust in the air when vehicles drive by. For the price for a RV site, could have been considerably better.
Convenient to Big Bend. Small sites, barely enough water pressure to take a shower. The sewer pipes are all about 8 inches above grade, making it almost impossible to get enough pitch to properly drain. Our site was directly behind the restaurant where deliveries are made very early in the morning. Too many other camping resorts to try before we would stay here again.
I stayed here in December, 2023. I really enjoyed my stay in its 2 queen beds motel room. The bedroom and bathroom sink/mirror has been remodeled. Although the bathroom was not remodeled, I'm fine with the relatively old bathroom since it was clean. There's a handy mobile device charging port in the room and reading lights for each bed. The room was clean and spacious enough for 2 adults. The motel location is very good, just right at the intersection of highway 118 and the road to Terlingua, next to the only gas station around Terlingua.
Although listed as a "resort", it is basically a big, dusty lot with hook ups. Some, but not much shade is available. Laundry has limited hours. Be aware that many pre-paid mobile plans do not have coverage anywhere within a 100 miles of Big Bend. That said, it does appear to be one of the better places to stay in an RV in the area.
This is a cute little motel in a decent location outside of Big Bend parks. If you go here expecting a 5-star hotel, you will be disappointed. We had an updated room (pics were taken at the end of our 2-night stay) that was much better than we were expecting based on previous reviews. The motel had cute little fire tables with outdoor sofas, a grilling area if you brought your own, and a gas station/restaurant next door. The rooms were clean and had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The only negatives were that the window in my room couldn't lock and that the beds were HARD. Bring some kind of mattress topper if you can't sleep on extra firm beds.
