We've taken vacation here with family and other families for 40+ years. No other resort can match family treatment like Balsam. Great chain of lakes, fishing, hiking, discovering area scenery and places. I look forward to annual vacation starting the day we get back. It's got a spirit about it that says - "Welcome, you're home - relax and enjoy yourself". Some of our greatest friends were made here, and we look forward to our time together each year.
Our family (13-18 people, 3 large cabins) has been vacationing here since the 1950s. Dirty, grimey cabins, floors, and furniture greeted us this year. The "beach" wasn't raked the whole week (someone had dug a large hole on it the week before), one roll of toilet paper for the entire week, screen doors with screens falling apart. Bedding was really clean, but had holes in most. Nice lake, good fishing. There is a charge per boat to land it on the shore, no guaranteed dock space. The resort is rustic, but has become too run down. We decided not to return next year. This makes us sad. The resort has been on the market since 5/1/22. When we asked, no plan is in place for people already booked for next year when/if it sells.
My entire family. Dad mom brother sister. My husband and kids. Family kids go every year. We are on our way up and can't wait for the best week ever. Our family will never go to a different camp as long as we have a choice. Everything is amazing
My family has been going there for forty years. I have been going there for ten. It is a good family place, great fishing, great experience.
This is the best place ever for camping, showers and laundry room. And the cabins are great. Ran by the best people ever and the area is just gorgeous plus the fishing is great
