About Campground

Set on 32 acres along the Frying Pan River, Beyul Retreat is a forested haven in a wild Colorado mountain valley.

We share this place with foxes, elk, black bears, hawks, eagles, and trout. Surrounded by the red rock of the river valley, the retreat is nestled in groves of Colorado blue spruce, Aspen and Douglas fir trees. The extensive property has both welcoming gathering spaces and private corners for solitude.

At 8300 ft, our mountain ecology means changing magic throughout the seasons: a blanket of pristine deep Rocky Mountain powder in the winter, the sweet green emergence of spring, the glory of summer among the peaks, and a fireworks show of glowing hues in the fall.

The retreat is surrounded by the White River National Forest, which creates privacy and access for backcountry skiing, hiking, backpacking, and hunting. It’s 26 miles up from the confluence with the Roaring Fork, just five minutes beyond Ruedi Reservoir, a beautiful 1,100-acre lake where you can enjoy sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, and fishing. World-class mountain-biking, climbing, paragliding and skiing are within a short drive.

Our 15 cabins range in size, with options from a two-story home that sleeps 12 to our four historic studio cabins. You’re sure to find one perfect for your stay.

In the main lodge, we have 7 guest rooms, two of which have ensuite bathrooms.

Super cool place I will definitely return. Love the staff, vibes, views and amenities. Would like a lot more water pressure in the sinks and showers in the cabin though.

Really great for events but if you’re just a non-event guest the facilities/yoga tent might be fully occupied by event facilitators/attendees. If you’re looking for quiet retreat you may not find peace or quiet if there is an event during your stay due to music or activities. The food is phenomenal and the one sauna area is great! The trails are subpar, facilities feel more of an event venue than a wellness retreat space. Dog friendly.

My sister celebrated a fantastic winter wedding at Beyul Retreat in early December 2023, and the entire experience was magical. The setting was beautiful, and the wedding guests enjoyed snowshoeing, soaking in the hot tub, and relaxing in the sauna. The Retreat staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The meals provided were delicious, and the kitchen staff was able to accomadate dietary restrictions. The cabins were comfortable, well-supplied with linens, kitchen supplies, and games and puzzles. Firewood was provided for the woodburning stove in the cabins. Beyul is pet-friendly, and we were happy to have our dogs with us for the weekend. The resort is remote, and the road required 4WD vehicles to get there and back in the winter weather, so transportation may be an issue for anyone with a less capable vehicle. There is no internet access in the cabins, but the lodge has wifi for anyone wanting to stay connected online. Overall, we had a wonderful time and were very satisfied with our stay.

Beyul is a dream 💫… Abby, the co-founder is simply amazing. I’m not sure how we organically find the most amazing boutiques & hosts, but Abby, Gregory and Tommy are up there with the best of them. They are so present, hospitable and overall good humans to be around. Which, you can feel on property. We will absolutely be back.

If you want a true Colorado authentic and unique experience this is your place! Not only do does the staff go above and beyond to making you feel at home on the ranch, but the main lodge and amenities make for a cozy & calming vacation.

Need a break from it all? Make sure you check out the art walk the meanders through the gorgeous pines and along the river
