Campsite: Jonestown AOK Campground

On April 10, on way home from Florida, we booked a site at the AOK Campground in PA. I informed Campground that I was towing a 37 foot fifth wheel trailer and I needed a pull through site for the night. They said they had sites available and booked me into site number 126. It was a very long day on the road and we arrived late. The campground office was closed, we picked up our map posted on the office door. We proceeded to the site immediately and I was concerned whether I could get into it as it required a hard right turn and didn’t appear to be a long enough pull through site. Additionally, there was a large tree on the left side of the site which impeded getting into the site. I pulled as far right as I could into the site driving up onto the concrete patio. All of a sudden my truck stopped and it would not move forward. I got out of the truck to see what the problem was, and looked up to see a large limb that was sticking right across the site. I had contacted the tree and damaged my camper. Obviously upset, I wondered why the Campground would allow a limb to stick out across the site. As I look closer at the limb, I realize that it had been struck twice previously by campers. There were now three significant scars on the limb. I backed away from that site and pulled into a wider but shorter site next to me. Once crookedly into that site, the camper was sticking out on the roadway in the back and my truck was in the road in the front. I decided to stay there anyway since we were leaving early and there were very few campers that early in the spring in the campground. Both sites were inappropriate for my size camper. Additionally, with two previous scars on the tree, the campground should have realized that that limb was not in a good place, and should have been removed. I feel like the AOK Campground failed to assign an appropriate site and is not managing their sites appropriately. I called the campground and attempted to talk to the manager, but had to leave a message. I ask them to call me back which they never did. Ultimately, my camper was totaled.
