This is a very beautiful park with well-maintained equestrian and hiking trails, and dispersed camping with fire rings, picnic tables and grills, no electric, no sewer, no water at campsites. No dump station. Porta potties and a tall standing fresh water spigot are on site at the main trailhead parking area. Many trails are closed during hunting season. There are also designated picnic areas and a fishing pond (no swimming allowed). During summer, be sure to bring mosquito and tick repellent.
This was an incredibly amazing place to visit. Old growth forests with trees hundreds of years old. Always a picturesque view and pleasant surprises around every corner, up and down every hill along the hiking paths. Definitely stop at the visitor center to get information before you set out on a hike. There are also guided tours with Rangers who are extremely knowledgeable about the park. Visit in early June or after Labor Day to beat the crowds. This place is beautiful and breathtaking!
This is a beautiful place to camp. It's like camping in an enchanted forest. $17 per night, half price if you have an inter-agency pass. All campsites are on a first come first serve basis. Weekends are usually very busy, especially during peak season. The beach is very rocky, but the views are picturesque. On a clear day you can see Mount Rainier in the distance across the bay. Day camping is allowed in the south parking lot. Picnic tables are within walking distance of the beach. The south end beach is small, but much less rocky than the north end. Beware, the tide comes in quickly. Keep an eye on the changing tide. The camp host is very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.
