If we camp with power, it’s at Sun Outdoors. We love the downtown location because it’s close to Blue Pig and within walking distance of many other places. We were able to fit two built Gladiators and an 18 foot travel trailer in our site and we still had the picnic table in our site with no issues. There is also a Texaco gas (only) station here which makes morning drinks and forgotten items easy to obtain, but they don’t carry Coffee-Mate (or any brand) creamer in their coolers.
The entire campground is reasonably quiet BUT no matter where you are in the canyon you’ll hear road noise from semi trucks. There is a high school right behind it so during the week you may hear the school bells mid-day. There is a community fire pit, horse shoes, and hang-out area. There are a ton of tent sites, with power. There are many trailer sites with power and water. There is a free dump station on-site. There are group sites that are primitive and have no power.
Decent shade at most sites, and the kids park is great! Showers are KOA style, clean but still have wet muddy shoe prints most of the time. Splash pad for kids when it’s warm that is activated on a timer like a hot tub. The pool is nice and they also have a 4 burner propane gas grille at the pool for everyone to use which is super nice.
They’re usually super relaxed and accommodating- but I will say this time when we asked to stay another day, we came in (after leaving to go to breakfast, we had already checked out) and the lady at the front desk was SUPER rude and said, “I SHOULD charge you $30 for late check out.” Yeah- we were already checked out and we’re offering our business to you… Well, due to her nonsense, we chose to not stay another night and go to Moab Valley Inn just behind this location and stayed there because of her bad attitude. We will be back, and will leave another review as well. Sure hope her attitude improves, though!
