Campsite: La Vista Campground - Lake Isabel
Beautiful! Clean and host was very friendly! The "locals" were very friendly and close at all times! Even let us snap a few pics! Short walk to the lake, beautiful mountain scenery, and really beautiful tent campsites!! Only drawback was it was not easy to find for us, not from the area... no clear signs on the main roads.... but we ate glad our perseverance paid off! Best campground in the area!! ( btw.. the "locals" are mule deer!... surrounded our campsite!)
Campsite: Custer Cove — Glendo State Park
Beautiful lake, and probably a nice area.
However, the maintenance in Custer Cove was severely lacking. As an Avid camper, we expected more from a State run park. Terrible signage, no one to check us in, and the fact that the numerous trash containers were full, and putrid, odor filling the area, and the fire ring had not been cleaned out from at least several visotors before us.
Overall, dissapointed and wont go back.
However, the deer did their part to make it a nicer stay.
