We have been coming here for a few years now and absolutely love the campground. This weekend was a different experience. We arrived Thursday night and Friday morning were told that the lake would be closed due to a shortage of lifeguards. It was over 80 degrees that day. The pool is a swim at your own risk amenity and there are signs everywhere that there is no lifeguard on duty, but there were 3-4 lifeguards at the pool throughout the day. The explanation from the head lifeguard Marie was that there was an issue with the pool deck and it was very slippery and hazardous and they needed the lifeguards at the pool. The logic here is lost on me. Why wouldn't you close the safety hazard and open the lake?? And the pool deck was actually dangerously slippery. The lake opened Saturday morning when it was 50 degrees and had no one in it. It was a very disappointing experience.
